02 Basic Union Skills: No Skills, No Voice
Experienced instructors will help you understand the basics of parliamentary procedure and the difference between a grievance and a complaint. You will learn how to conduct union business more effectively and become a more active participant. This is a great class for first-timers or experienced activists who want to refresh their skills.
03 Save the Middle Class: No
04 Collective Bargaining: Your World, Your Union, Your Rights!
Explore the negotiation process and how to build your package for negotiation, create a win-win situation, and conduct yourself as a negotiator. Learn internal and external factors that contribute to the negotiating climate.
05 Latina/o Culture & History
Look into the roots of one of the most dynamic groups in today's organized labor. This workshop covers the historic background of Latinas/os in unions as well as the strengths in organizing and political power that the Latina/o population possesses.
06 Emergency Preparedness
1A Youth & Unions 1A (ages 8-12)
This popular workshop gives young people an introduction to the importance of unions and the historic contributions that Latina/o workers bring into the US Labor Movement. The workshop begins Friday evening and concludes Saturday at 4:30 pm. Cost is $50 per student; each family's additional child is at a discounted rate of $30 each. This fee covers the workshop, Saturday lunch, & Sunday breakfast.
