Currently the largest of our conferences, this event allows workers of all backgrounds to build their skills through workshops taught by Black men of all ages. The conference—which runs from Thursday evening through Sunday morning—usually has a dozen workshops, on topics ranging from Bacic Unionism, to Diversity & Civil Rights, to Financial Planning. The conference typically has a special Saturday youth program.

April

Organized and taught by women workers, this is the oldest continuous conference of its kind in the U.S., running since 1974! Workers of all genders are encouraged to attend!

June

This conference highlights the experiences of workers who are new to unionism and labor organizing, regardless of their age. Workers of ALL AGES are invited to participate—everyone has something to learn, even if you've been in the movement for decades!

June/July

Our newest conference, this event features instructors, facilitators, and coordinators from the LGBTQ+ community. All workers—queer folks and non-queer—are encouraged to attend and build solidarity, organizing skills, and allyship.

September

This institute highlights and celebrates workers from Latin American communities, with specific attention to Latina/o worker history and the immigrant experience in the United States.

November

Aimed at both formal/elected and informal leaders, this conference is focused on advanced workshops that empower workers to become effective change leaders in their workplaces, unions, and communities. First-time CLCS conference attendees are absolutely encouraged to join as well!
